Short version: we don’t collect health information, we don’t run advertising trackers, and we don’t sell anything about you.
What we don’t collect
- No health information. There are no symptom checkers, no intake forms, no appointment requests, and no fields anywhere on this site that ask about your health, your diagnosis, or your care. We don’t want that information and we’ve built the site so we can’t receive it.
- No advertising or social trackers. No Meta Pixel, no Google Ads tags, no third-party ad networks, no session-recording tools.
- No accounts. There is nothing to log into.
What we do collect
Aggregate analytics. We use privacy-preserving, cookieless analytics to see which pages are read and roughly where readers come from. It does not use cookies, does not fingerprint browsers, and does not build a profile of you across sites. We see totals, not people.
Email, only if you give it to us. If you subscribe to our newsletter, we store the address you enter and nothing else. We use it to send the newsletter. We don’t sell it, rent it, or share it, and every email has a one-click unsubscribe. If you write to us, we keep the correspondence so we can answer it.
Server logs. Our host records standard request logs, including IP addresses, for security and troubleshooting. These are retained for a limited period and are not used to identify readers.
Cookies
We don’t set tracking cookies. Any cookie present is strictly functional (for example, remembering a light/dark theme preference).
Third parties
Pages may link to outside sites — government agencies, hospitals, practices. Once you follow a link, that site’s privacy practices apply, not ours. We do not embed third-party widgets that load on page view.
Your choices
To be removed from the newsletter, use the unsubscribe link or write to us. To ask what we have about an address, or to have it deleted, write to editor@nycmednews.com and we’ll handle it.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date below changes with it, and material changes are noted on the page.
